Congress, New Mexico, Senators

Heath Haussamen is reporting that New Mexico Congressman Tom Udall will run for the Senate seat being vacated by Pete Domenici.

U.S. Rep. Tom Udall, D-N.M., has decided that he will run for the Senate seat being vacated by Pete Domenici next year.

Udall has called a number of Democratic Party insiders this week, including at least some county party chairs, to inform them of his decision, reliable sources confirmed. A Udall spokesperson could not be reached for comment.

Hallelujah! Many positives out of this news. I expect Tom's entry will certainly hellp out national ticket win in MM. I'm excited to see how the Udall cousins may link their efforts to help us in CO as well. Tom's race will have a ripple effect on other races, as his popularity and appeal will enable us to place national effort on other more challenging Senate races, such as KY, Alaska, or NC. Congrats to all netrooters who've sent emails and donations in this succesful "Draft Tom Udall movement"! This is a very powerful example of what one person can do, with a little help from friends!
