While the nation is transfixed on Virginia and Tester in Montana, here are a list of things to either smile about or look at across the West.

No matter what, even if he loses, Gary Trauner gave Barbara Cubin a run for her money in a state where no one gave the Democrat a chance.


Richard Pombo is gone in California. This a big win. Huge.

Across the entire West, where is seemed like every state had a ballot initiative on property rights, only 2 out of 6 will actually become law.

Well said. It is especially good to see Pombo gone.

Speaking of ballor initiatives, minimum wage hikes passed in Arizona, Colorado. Missouri, Montana, Ohio and Nevada.
