CO Gov. - Ritter Builds Huge Lead
According to Public Opinion Strategies, a firm that generally polls for Republican candidates, in a poll for the Rocky Mountain News & CBS4, Democrat Bill Ritter has a huge 17 point lead over his rival Congressman Bob Beauprez in the race for governor in Colorado.
Democrat Bill Ritter has a remarkable 17-point lead over Republican Congressman Bob Beauprez in the race for Colorado governor, according to a Rocky Mountain News/ CBS 4 poll of likely voters.Fifty percent of voters surveyed said they were likely to vote for Ritter, versus 33 percent for Beauprez. Eleven percent said they were undecided.
The Rocky Mountain News/CBS 4 poll is based on statewide telephone interviews of 500 registered voters who said they are likely to vote in November.
It was conducted Sept. 10 through Sept. 12 by pollster Weigel of Public Opinion Strategies, a firm that generally polls for Republican candidates.
The sample has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.38 percentage points.Looks like Colorado is getting bluer every day. The Western Democratic trend continues.

I'm a recent affliate with the Dems. A large part of what pushed me to register Democratic is the same thing that is pushing Republicans away from Beauprez.
Social (Religious) Conservatism
Libertarian Republicans don't want a Creationist as Lt. Governor. Their most important state issues aren't stopping abortion or gay civil unions. Heck even pro-business Republicans are on Ritter's bandwagon. As the Religious Right crowds out the libertarians, the Dems gain.
