Last chance to sign the Western Primary petition
Tomorrow is your last day to sign this very important petition to the DNC.
Matt Singer has some good reasons while you're pondering:
The Western Primary is important for a couple reasons. First, politically, if the Democrats are going to have a chance of winning the West and the South, we simply need to have candidates who can prove their strengths in the West and the South. Second, from a policy perspective, I think the country will be significantly better off if the parties are more in touch with Western common sense rather than crazy stuff like the Schiavo invasion. There are, of course, also rather parochial reasons for supporting this. A Western primary would be of likely benefit to a Bill Richardson campaign. On that issue, I’m kinda split. I’m not backing Richardson in ‘08 (since I’m not backing anyone). Of course, even if we ignore the Richardson issue, I think we can also agree that if Hillary doesn’t get her act together, she’s pretty likely to fall on her face in the West. That alone may be enough reason to support this.
Regardless, if you consider yourself a Democrat and you support a Western primary, take this opportunity to tell the powers that be in the party why it is important.
Sign now and tell your friends to sign. Your voice counts in this.
