Where's Judy?
I found Judy Martz! She was in Tacoma hanging out, you know, being an "instrument of God." Its like, Holy Irreligious West Batman:
Martz, a Republican, drew repeated applause from a crowd of 2,800 people in the Tacoma Dome when she spoke against gay marriage, supported prayer in public schools and praised the first lady as a woman who “loves the Lord.”“I am no Laura Bush but I am an instrument of God,” Martz said at the 27th annual Pierce County Prayer Breakfast. “If God can use me, he will use you.”
UPDATE: Matt Rosenberg at Soundpolitics, a conservative blog, has this to say about the Martz attack:
Former Gov. Martz may tell evangelicals what they want to hear, but does herself and her party no favors making erroneous factual claims on teen XXbirthXX PREGNANCY rates, and ludicrously calling for the re-institution of mandatory prayer in public schools. Worse than that is the imputed causality: as if we could simply peg divorce and academic performance to lack of forced prayer in public schools. What planet is this woman from? This is not MY "big tent" GOP. But rather than run, I say flush out the zealots. We've been through the Ellen Craswell thing here in Washington State already, Gov. Martz, give us a break, OK?

Basically, most of us are terrified with anyone locked into a funtamentalistic mindset.
The republicans are trying to use these religious fundies and they are creating a weak spot for we Democrats to attack.
Also, their glazed eyes fixation on the free markets and capitilism to solve all the nations problems is a fundamentalistic position that is ripe for attack.
In their heart of hearts, the true believer wants to drag the economy back to the good old days of the trusts and unfettered capitalism of the early 20th century.
Hopefully, we average joes are finally waking up to the fact that these views are only beneficial to the very richest industrialists.

(and yes, we know that sometimes they're very, very wrong. Other times, they're right on.)
