Tancredo one of those cwazy webubwicans

Central to my theory of future Democratic domination of the West and Western Democratic domination of the party, is for Western Republicans to do their part and act all crazy.
Rep. Jim Gibbons of Nevada is doing his part, now Rep. Tom Tancredo is chipping in by picking a fight , Sen. Ken "more conservative than a lot of people first thought" Salazar. On immigration of all issues too.
On Wednesday afternoon, Tancredo issued a press release to "blast" Salazar for allegedly "refusing to support legislation that could prevent another 9/11."The topic was Tancredo's pet issue - immigration - and provisions the Littleton Republican wants to be included within a supplemental spending bill for the war in Iraq. Among them: no driver's licenses for illegal immigrants.
Salazar recently signed a letter - along with six Republican senators and five fellow Democrats - arguing that the spending bill should focus on helping troops and their families, and should "not be used as a vehicle for controversial agendas."
Tancredo attacked Salazar by name, urging him to talk to his brother, Rep. John Salazar, who recently voted for a bill including the immigration reforms.
"Maybe he's already been in Washington too long and is listening to the open borders lobby instead of the people of Colorado who overwhelmingly support passage of these tough new safeguards," Tancredo charged in the release.
I'm hoping for more of the same for our Colorado friend, and it looks like I'm going to be getting some of it. Maybe even a Bob Dornan-esque run in 2008. It was after Bob Dornan tried to run for President that he finally lost his house seat in southern Californian. I've used the Dornan example in the past of how a crazy Western Republican can give way to a moderate, smart Democrat.
